Mission Statement:
“As a visiting Lay Pastor, be a Christian witness for those unable to come to church, by representing the Church’s spiritual ministry in word and presence.”
This is a group of people who feel called to bring pastoral care and spiritual nourishment to the lonely, isolate, sick, or depressed person.
Each Lay Pastor visits one person per month. We meet as a group on the third Thursday of the month from 7:30-9:30 p.m. September through June to give each other input and support.
The training course is conducted by my two assistants Doris Buell, Pam Moore and myself. It consists of five two-hour sessions in the fall.
In early spring a one time 3 hour course is offered by Rev. Pauline Perry for licensing (required by the Bishop) in order to take communion as well to the person they visit. The next training lessons will begin in October 2007.
As a visiting Lay Pastor, you will be a Christian Witness for others by representing the Church's spiritual ministry in word and presence.
