| At All Saints, we believe that Christians are made, not born,
and we welcome even the smallest Christians into our worshipping
community. An open space with books and soft toys is available
to young children at all times in the church, and nursery care
is provided each Sunday morning from 8:45 to 11:45 a.m. In
addition to our formal worship service at 10:30, with full
choir, we offer two alternatives for families with children.
The Family Eucharist, at 9:00 each Sunday morning, offers an
interactive worship service designed for children between the
ages of 4 and 10 and sensitive to their shorter attention spans.
We have found that lots of folks who are children at heart
enjoy hearing our children read the lessons, listening to the
participatory sermons, and singing music from a wide variety
of traditions. Children and youth take an active role in leading worship at All Saints Church, and this experience is valuable for them in several ways. In addition to developing a respect for and appreciation of our faith tradition, members of our choirs receive professional music training and develop skills that will serve them throughout their lives. Our acolytes and readers develop poise, self-assurance, and confidence in appearing before large groups of people. And most of all, participants learn that everyone has something to offer to the worship of God. |
